today was the 3rd time in which I successfully eluded paying a 200 euro deposit, by saying to the same man, I would come back and pay tomorrow……oh france.
I will miss…
- the convenience of walking
- sandwich au chevre, diet coke, and a chocolate eclair from the le espirit bakery
- fromage!
- gelato in Italia
- chianti in Italia
- wine in France
- the best fire grilled pizza from a mobile pizza stand in Clermont
- baguettes
- fresh mozzarella in a caprese salad in Florence
- jardin lecoq
- café
- much more then I realize now.
damn…I really want to go to Egypt. hopefully next summer?
Italy.
Just Go.
Rome, for its history and site seeing.
Florence, for its amazing food, gelati, and chianti wine
Venice, for its character.
…and make sure you use the word ‘prego’ in every sentence.
And..a little album I like to call “Cats of Venice”
Venice.
Florence.
Rome.
I finally get it!…..I need to be drunk all the time to live here.

well unfortunately for this blog, life has been pretty mundane recently. Berlin was great (aside from leaving the 70 temps in France), I had my fix of German beer and sausage and of course delicious marmorkuchen! It was wonderful to see some familiar faces, and realize that I am not the only one paying 145 euros for a room (or essentially a space with 4 paper thin walls) I have been forced to call home. Now with visits to the Anne Frank House (in Amsterdam), the Jewish Museum, Jewish Memorial, and watching the 1965 Sound of Music, I think my WWII mind trip has come to an end. Since being back in Clermont, I have had one review (en français!…hmmm no thank you) in which I was told I was going to school to be an architect…not an artist (due to my lack of structural elements in my drawings). This may have affected me more, if not an hour before this I spent 2 hours taping together 30 11x17s to form my boards…in lieu of using a plotter as no one here does, thus causing for my negligent attitude. This architect/artist statement in hindsight is more humorous…as the art students have a newly constructed art building across the street…and I just presented my work in a dimly lit hallway. But on to bigger and better traveling….Rome tomorrow!
Berlin.
